Arokaya House

I actually wrote an ad about this place a pretty long time ago for my old blog. So since I have a new one here, and I was reminded of this place, I thought I should write a new and improved ad here.

I suffer from back, knee, shin and arm injuries from all my previous sports activities and everything, so its vital for me to make sure I don't have any recurring injuries at the same areas or obtain new injuries.

In order to do that, I have to constantly make sure that I do not overuse my muscles, strain my back and a whole lot of other things that girls my age shouldn't have to worry about. Although I take all these necessary precautions, I still can't stop my back from aching when I spend too many hours on the computer or when its THAT time of the month again. So this is what I do when the pain in my back or anywhere else becomes unbearable:

I head on down to Arokaya House in Sunway Pyramid. (no la! no super exercise moves for you guys la! I go for massage ni!)

Honestly, my first impression of the place was pretty bad because I've never had faith in any of these reflexology, therapy kind of places. So naturally, I thought that this would be one of those bogus treatments where you'll only feel the difference for one day and the pain would come back after that.

I have never been so wrong about something like this till now.

I'll start from the very beginning.

First, they would wash your feet with some salt to make sure that there are no foul feet odor lingering in the air once you're in the room. Then, you're required to change into the garments prepared for you. Nothing too sexy or revealing, just blouse and shorts. =D You only have to change if you're going for the full body massage.

Then, you will be assigned to a special room, where the horror begins. A young Thai guy named Sert (I think thats how you spell it) was assigned to me, based on good recommendations. He started massaging my arms then my legs. At this point, I was thinking, 'Hey, this isn't too bad. Its not that painful'. But the minute he started on my back, I felt like someone had kicked me all the way down to hell and I was to repeat my death again and again, however it may be.

The pain was excruciating. Everytime he puts pressure on that certain point, I had to bury my head in the pillow so no one would hear me groaning. He knew it hurt me too because I was writhing and tossing around, but he explained that it had to hurt if I wanted it to feel better later. So I put the idea of kicking him aside, clenched my teeth and just pray that it will all be over soon.

90 minutes never felt so long.

Surprisingly, by the time he was done, I felt a sense of relief. I mean, I did feel a little worned and battered out, but the pain was no longer there. So I left with a smile on my face, hoping that the pain wouldn't just reappear again tomorrow.

It didn't!

I could sneeze like a normal human being without my back treathening to snap. And I could sit and have dinner without having to constantly shift my weight or rub my back. I felt great! I did however feel like I had a huge bruise on the outside, but other than that, my back felt fine. And my back has been fine till now. Mind you, I went for this massage sometime April last year. I was supposed to go back for a second session, but my back felt so good that my mum told me I didn't have to.

It's a miracle I tell you!

My back only started to hurt again because I started working out, and someone kicked me in the back recently. But trust me when I say that I will definitely be visiting Arokaya House again should the pain get worst.

It isn't too pricey either. I paid RM65 for the 90 minutes full body treatment that time. I would definitely recommend anyone who's having muscular, blood circulation problems or problems similar to those to visit Arokaya House. The process may be painful, and it might be a little expensive for you, but one visit is enough to help relief the pain.

Would you rather save RM65 and live with the pain everyday? I wouldn't.

So remember, if you're having any pains in your body, expecially muscular pains, don't hesitate to drop by Arokaya House in Sunway Pyramid. Its located in Sunway's Marakesh area, near Carl's Junior. I gurantee that you will not regret your visit.

FYI: I'm not making any profits from this place or this ad, I just like the place.
