I've always been a fan of Italian food. The thick creamy sauces (alfredo's are my favourite!) and the freshly baked pizzas... they just light up your pallettes!
Before I start, I'd like to just apologize for the lack (more like non-existent) of images. We were too hungry and couldn't hold on any longer to snap photos and just dug in.
To really pull off a creamy pasta, the cream has to be light enough for you to not get sick of it, and creamy enough to give you that sinful indulgence. The night at Cappricciosa was definitely an indulgence on all our parts.
What we ordered:
Beef bacon carbonara - RM 19.90
Linguine pasta with Smoked salmon in Light cream sauce - RM 24.90
Some Italian meat soup (can't remember) - Unsure
Clam Chowder - Unsure
Price wise, it's pretty reasonable. The portions are a little smaller than the ones in Spaghetti Grill, but what they lacked in size, they made up with taste. The pastas were made with the right consistency of sauce and pasta (not too dry - too much pasta and not enough sauce, or vice versa), and it tasted heavenly.
The beef bacon carbonara came with a generous helping of bacon, and if you add a hint of tobassco sauce in your pasta (like I did!), you'll feel as though you've died and gone to Italy for a holiday. The linguine pasta with smoked salmon was almost perfect. The only gripe I have with the pasta was that it did not come with many chunks of salmon. Instead, it came with one big piece of salmon right in the middle of it all. It didn't make the pasta horrible, I just would have preferred the salmon chunks to be coated with the light cream sauce.
Now for the soups - I honestly cannot remember the name of this soup, but it was Italian meat-something. Lol. Doesn't matter if I can't remember the name, because up to this day, I could still remember how it tastes like. Boy was it good!! It came with a generous portion of chunky meat in creamy tomato soup. Heavenly I tell you!
There was nothing much to scream about the clam chowder. To my knowledge, chowders are supposed to be pretty thick soups. This was a little too diluted for my liking. Taste wise, nothing to complain about. Just the consistency of it.
Overall, I would definitely go back to Cappriciosa sometime soon to try out their other dishes. Especially their pizzas and parpadelles! Oh gosh, I'm drooling right now. Till next time folks!
